Mill Hill Santa wip update

Tomorrow is a big day for me

I will be married to my husband Larry for 20 yrs tomorrow. Wow, how the time flies.That is quite an accomplishment in this day and time.So many people don't stay together anymore. I am blessed God gave him to me.I never take him for granted. We will go on a hike in the morning and fishing and then have some breakfast and then in the evening go out to dinner. I am looking forward to a day spending time with my man.
On a stitching note, I started a mill hill kit tonight.It is called Northwoods Santa.(Juniper Branch Santa.) I will have to scan it soon.I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Take care,Kimberly  

I haven't had much stitching time here lately. I am working 2 jobs now. I work at Lancaster Christian Academy Monday-Friday. I go in in the mornings from 8:00 am till 12:30 pm and then I go back from 3:00 pm till 6:00 pm and I work every other weekend at Stones River Manor Assisted Living. I need to finish up  my wip of Angels unawares by My Big Toe Designs. I need to get more Red Currant thread by Cresent Colours next week from my LNS. I will be going to stitch night and will get the thread to complete this then. It is about 28 miles from my house and with working such crazy hours, I don't get there unless I plan time to go.What better time to take the journey than on a stitch night with my girls.  I"m sorry I haven't blogged in over a month, just been soo busy with work and life. wow what a week

I interviewed for a job yesterday at a Christian school and was wanting full time or better hours of part time. I got half what I wanted.lol. I got 3 hours a day from 3Pm to 6Pm for now. I guess I will have to live with it. IT really stinks because the rest of the day I have nothing going on and it would be too much on me to work somewhere else on top of this and my every other weekend job too.I went and got fingerprinted today for the job. I got my eyes checked today also. I havent had an eye exam in 20 yrs.lol. I have amazing vision. I just need "cheaters" readers for close up work like stitching and reading a book up close.Not bad at all. I had my eyes dilated and she said I have healthy eyes. Praise God for that ,after all, our eyes are the windows to our souls don't you know? I have been stitching mostly on "Be Not Forgetful" by My Big Toe Designs. I need to either scan it in or take a pic for all to see. I should be done shortly. I am ready to start or at least finish  another wip before Thanksgiving. cleaning

I am cleaning,rearranging and getting my cross stitch/craft/hobby/computer room cleaned up today. I am going through all my old bins of wips,ufos etc.I am finding lots I want to start,finish and just throw away.lol. I will post some of my old ufo's and wips so you can see what I am talking about. I want everything straightened up so I can find things easily.Have a good day everyone. I intend to.  I am still looking for a Mon-Thur job.It is sooo aggravating to lose a job I loved. I was working at a local church and they have decided to get rid of any employee that is not a member of their church. I already have a membership with a sister church and don't feel compelled to leave my church of worship and start at another church in order to keep my job. I feel this is ludicrous. I am just holding out on faith in God that he will replace it with something better in his time or that I will be a stay at home mom again and just work weekends. Either way I know it will be okay. I have so much time on my hands now, it is nice actually. I can stitch,sleep etc whenever I want.lol.

Tonight I

Not too much to blog about

I haven't stitched this past week. I was taking care of an older lady Annabel all week for 3 hours a day and then going home to clean,run errands,pay bills,etc.  I watched The Grudge 2 last night with my daughter and I crocheted another dish cloth.   I will try to post pics tomorrow. I am working today from 2-9 pm. I will try to get some stitching in this evening when I arrive home from work. I want to work on Sudden Showers and my LHN piece"May" and finish it up if possible this weekend. What are you plans for the 4th of July weekend? I will be sitting and relaxing this weekend and stitching of course. I will be working from 2-9 for someone at work on Monday (July 4th) and Tuesday (July 5th) from 2-9 also.  I hope everyone has  a great weekend . Stay safe and have fun,Kimberly

Tuesday June 21st

Well today didn't start out too well. I went to help a little lady from church. I am cleaning her house and keeping her company 3 hours a day. well. today I was trying to be nice to her darn pet birds and I got bit on my middle finger.I got a nice blood blister from it. I had never been bitten by a bird b4.lol. I cried, it felt like I shut my finger in a door or something. I wasn't expecting it to peck me.  I was trying to put fresh food and water in her cage. Her name is Simba, I guess I should have known that a bird having a lion name might be trouble.lol.  I'm off to get some housework done around here and will stitch this evening and post a picture if time permits.Hope all my stitcher  friends are having a good day. Don't feed the birds.lol

Sunday June 19th Father's Day

Church was awesome this morning.I enjoyed teaching the 2 yrs olds about Elijah and how he talked to God and God answered his requests.  I am having some lunch now and then off to work I go. I work at an assisted living facility and I love what I do. I get to love on the elderly like they are all my very own grandparents that I no longer have.  Have a blessed day everyone. Today I

Went shopping for Father's day for my hubby. I got him 2 computer games he wanted.He thought he would get just one.lol. I got him a brisket and some sugar free candy.  I stitched on Sudden showers some and took my dog for a walk. I'm about to stitch some more.  I will probably make another dishcloth too. Sorry I didn't blog yesterday

I worked yesterday and I got home late. I managed to do a pink,gray,black and white dishcloth while everyone was asleep. It came out super cute, but I took the picture with my phone camera and can't figure out how to get it to my blog.lol. It is on facebook though.  I gave it to my coworker.She is from Kenya and was just over the moon to receive such a gesture.  I am off work today so I plan on working on Sudden Showers. I also while working yesterday met a gal coming in to see her mom. I work at an assisted living facility. Anyway I went in to see the lady that lives there and I saw needlework all over her walls.That was a great conversation piece. So I started asking her questions and she has alzhiemers, but managed to tell me she didn't stitch them. I then saw the daughter walking down the hall with her later. I asked the daughter who did such beautiful stitching and she told me that she did. I kept looking at her like I had seen her somewhere in my past. Come to find out, she was a framer at a cross stitch store that I thought was long closed.Well come to find out, not only is it thriving more than before, but it has all kinds of fibers such as Valdani and carries threads. I am sooo excited. I am going to stop in there on Monday and get my olive green Valdani threads so that I can stitch"Friendship is a sheltering tree" by Silver Creek.yippee.Also that lady is bringing me a tote of old patterns and stuff that she won't ever stitch again. I'm in seventh heaven. She was going to bring them to me at work today, but I told her I won't be back till next weekend, darn it, I forgot I am working tomorrow for somebody.lol.oh well.Well I am off to stitch on Sudden Showers and will post a pic as soon as I make some more headway on it.Have a great weekend everyone.

Well today was an average day

I got up at 6:30 am with the hubby. I made breakfast. I cross stitched from 8 -10:30.I went to lunch with the hubby and my daughter at a Chinese restaurant.Then I went grocery shopping at Walmart and then Kroger.
I cooked dinner and then goofed off on Facebook. I should be stitching right now. Oh yeah, I bought more yarn today while at Walmart. I am hooked on making dishcloths now.They got new colors in. I got one that is orange,brown and yellow and another with white, purple,blues and greens.Very pretty.I will try to update with another new picture of Sudden Showers on Saturday. I will be working tomorrow and hubby will be home when I am so he will be on my computer working from home. I hope everyone has a super day tomorrow and a good night tonight. What I have decided to do

I have decided that instead of only posting when I have a picture to post, I will post anyway.
I am wondering how everyone is doing and what you are all working on?
I have been crocheting dish cloths and cross stitching. I have been pondering about making some jewelry and some sock monkeys. I see a girl online that makes tons and tons of them and sells them. I am trying to get to the Dominican Republic with my church. I was thinking of making some monkeys and trying to do a donation only drive. If they donate $5.00 or more, they can have one. Not sure if I would make enough that way to cover the cost of making them or not though.I have been stitching mainly on Elsa William's Sudden Showers kit and Little House Needlework's May kit and Little House Needlework's Always and Forever piece.  I will do my best to get pics up soon.  I hope all of you are doing well.Drop me a line and let me know what is new with you,Kimberly

Life

I have been working on Sudden Showers by Elsa Williams/JCA but I am having issues posting from my phone to blog  spot, so I will have to either take it off my stretcher bars and scan it in or else take a picture with my camera and update it that way. I will try to do that this weekend.  I hope all my stitching buddies are getting lots of stitching in. I have been so busy with work,family,birthdays,Mother's Day and just life in general that I haven
t had my much stitching time lately which is a bummer.  Maybe I will soon.

A new pattern calling my name

I just got the new Stoney Creek Magazine for June and I really am anxious to start "Bloom where you are planted"  I looks to be an easy stitch.It looks like rocks all stitched together with a flower trying to come out from under them.Really neat looking and the pic of the lighthouse keeper looks awesome too. I am currently collecting my necessary threads and fabric to start these two beautiful patterns. What are you getting ready to stitch from a mag soon?

I dont know what it is about this picture, but it gave me the biggest struggle and headache in stitching.  I dont know if it is the fabric being uncooperative or if my eyes are just tired these days. I'm glad to have this finished finally. I am going to put it on cardstock and make it a Mothers Day Card for my mom.  I havent stitched anything for her in the last 2 yrs or so, she should love it.
